An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life.
"A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,

"Which wolf will win grandfather?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

In this culture, as we each made the journey from child to man, we discovered that our natural, innocient boyhood affection for other males become socially unacceptable. We were shamed or punished for nearly any kind of demonstrable affection with other males. "Don't be a sissy" or "That's so gay" or worse.

So most of us suppressed/denied our natural affection, confusing it with our awakening sexuality, and not wanting to be, or look, "queer." This is so sad: by closing our hearts to half the human race, we lose an essential part of ourselves.

w_mitlet.gif (3247 bytes)is dedicated to promoting men's healing/wholeness in body/heart/soul by supporting men in openly caring for ourselves and one another. All men can benefit from the love and support of other men.

Homophobia, fear of intimacy with other men, wounds men of every sexual orientation.

Touch is the language of the heart . . . the way we most directly feel connection and caring.

For loving, nurturing contact, sex is not essential. We are men exploring what it means to share real intimacy with other men.
We welcome men of all sexual preferences who wish to move beyond the fears that deprive us of our brothers' love. Dialogue through this site (send letters, poems, essays). Meet in our various events.
Become involved in this expanding community of caring men. See video.

A "Handy Guide" to workshop intimacy levels:
w_mitlet.gif (3247 bytes)offers different events with varying degrees of physical intimacy, to address the interests and comfort of men of diverse sexual orientations. In all our events, we support each man in honoring his own and others' boundaries. Use the ratings below as a quick way to gauge the degree of touch and/or nudity in each event:
- optional hugs and hand-holding in circles; no nudity;
- clothing-optional hot tub/sauna/sweat-lodge; or nude yoga
