The MIT-Seattle
list is primarily for those who live close enough to Seattle to want to be informed about evening or weekend workshops in the Seattle area [or in Vancouver, Canada].

The MIT-International
list is for everyone else.
Those on this list will only be notified of longer events that may warrant travelling a distance to attend.
